You are Invited to a Madrigal Dinner

HEAR YE, HEAR YE!

You are officially invited to a Madrigal Dinner at KUMC!

A Madrigal Dinner is a re-creation of an Elizabethan Era Yuletide feast. Bel Canto Women’s Ensemble, Key of Three, and a cast of other ensemble members from KUMC will present a Madrigal Dinner on the nights of December 9th & 10th at the church featuring music, pageantry, a welcoming wassail toast, and a four-course holiday meal as you join the King and the Royal Court for the celebration.

To attend you will need to make reservations for the evening of your choice. Tickets are $40 per person. Your ticket will also include the opportunity to attend a pre-dinner party at 5 pm with hors d'oeuvres before arriving at the church.

UPDATE: 12/7/22

Ticket sales for the Madrigal Dinner are now closed, but there are a few individual seats available for both evenings.

Please call and ask for Dolan Bayless at the church office (314-966-8167) if you would like to attend the event.

More About the Madrigal Dinner:

Here's a little more information on what you can expect the during the evening of the Madrigal Dinner:

  • Tickets Also Invite you to A Pre-Dinner Party

When you make your reservation to attend you can select if you would like to attend a pre-party at the home of a KUMC member near the church. Or, you can choose to go straight to the church for the start of the Madrigal Dinner experience at 6:15 pm.

  • The Royal WeLCOME At KUMC

The King will welcome the guests starting at 6:15 pm with a non-alcoholic wassail toast in the lobby upstairs to allow others to arrive for the feast.  You will be able to mingle and be entertained by various musicians. There is plenty of parking in the church lot and a coat check is available to you in the lobby.  When the time for the feast has arrived, the King and Queen of the castle will invite and announce the Lord and Lady guest of the evening to the festively decorated Commons for the meal and entertainment. Get ready for lots of good laughs and fun entertainment!

  • The Feast Menu

The first course of the four-course dinner will be an appetizer of breads and cheeses on the tables as guests arrive. Soup will be served as the second course between skits and vocal music. Course number three is the main entrée served by the wait staff. The main entrée features roast pork tenderloin with new potatoes and glazed carrots. And the final course of the evening is the sweetness of a “figgy pudding”. Unfortunately, because the meal is catered, special diets cannot be honored.
