Are you ready for some summer fun? You're invited to the 11th summer production of M.A.D. Camp at KUMC! M.A.D. Camp is for all who love music, singing, dancing, and dramatic arts.  No previous experience is necessary.  Registration is open to any child entering grades 3-8, those currently in 2nd through 7th grades, regardless of church affiliation or school attended. M.A.D. camp meets at Kirkwood United Methodist Church, located at 201 W. Adams Ave, Kirkwood, MO 63122.  for one week, July 18 - 24 from 8:45 am - Noon each day. The camp ends with two performances, one on Friday, July 22nd at 7 pm and one on Sunday, July 24th at 10:00 am.  Registrants are required to be at both performances. 


Get "Fired Up!" for M.A.D Camp

This summer's musical is Fired Up! It is a light-hearted retelling of the 6th century B.C.E. story of the King of Babylon forcing many into prison including Meshach, Abednego and Shadrach.  Stories about Esther, Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego and their courage and faith come from this period of history.  The story of Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego has been a favorite of students over the years!  There are moments of deep feelings and humor as the story is told to communicate the core message: regardless of circumstances we follow a loving God worthy of trust.  So let’s get Fired Up! as we learn the story of Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace.

M.A.D. Camp Registration is now open! 

Here are the requirements to participate:

Children must be entering grades 3 - 8, those currently in 2nd through 7th grades. No previous experience is necessary. Appropriate dress for morning rehearsals will be comfortable, but presentable clothing. Please, no flip-flops! We will be moving to the music and we don't want your child to flip or flop if they are wearing the wrong kind of foot wear. A tennis shoe that can be tied up is perfect! And we ask that you be able to commit to both performances, on Friday evening, July 22 and Sunday morning, July 24. 


M.A.D. Camp Registration Cost

Early Bird Registration   $40 per student NOW through June 27

Regular Registration      $45 per student June 28, 2022 through final deadline July 13, 2022


M.A.D. Camp Daily Schedule: Monday through Friday Mornings:

8:45   Arrive at Kirkwood United Methodist Church

9:00   Rehearsal

10:00   Snack Break

10:15   Classes in crafts, solo work, and sectional rehearsals

  11:15   Rehearsal

12:00   Dismissal

 

M.A.D. Camp will be directed by Dolan Bayless along with others from the music staff at Kirkwood United Methodist Church. Kirkwood United Methodist Church Safe Sanctuary policies will be followed by all adults working with campers during the daily camp sessions.
