Cool to Be Kind (Just for 2nd - 5th Grades)
Second Sundays of the Month, 3:30 - 4:30 pm
The "It's Cool to Be Kind" group is for kids currently in 2nd - 5th grades who want to have fun meeting new friends, playing games and doing some mission activities. Together with leader Lisa Hendry, they'll meet at KUMC and occasionally meet outside of the church for fun outings too! Kids are welcome to bring friends and parents are always welcome to join us, as well. On meeting days, meet in the gym to do some team-building activities and play some games, then we'll head down to Room 105 for a story and discussion. Friends are always welcome to come with you to our meetings!
Cool To Be Kind! Upcoming Meeting Dates:
Play cafè
wednesdays, 3 - 5 PM, in KUMC's Gym
Parents, bring the kids and let them enjoy open gym time in our indoor gym play area while you relax and get to chat with other parents after school ends. Let the little ones wiggle out that afternoon energy while you catch up with friends or meet new ones!

Souper SaturdayS
First Saturday of the Month, 4:30 - 6:30 PM, in KUMC's Gym
Do you have young children? Are you looking to find playmates for them and connect with other families nearby? You're invited to come and develop close friendships and join the fun at Souper Saturdays at Kirkwood United Methodist Church. The kids will make lasting friendships as they run off energy, and you won't need to cook! Older and younger siblings are welcome to come along too. Parents will enjoy soup, and kids will have their own kid-friendly meal. Please email group leader Scott Kennedy to let him know you would like to come so he can plan to have enough food for everyone.

Parent's Night out
On Friday evenings -TBA; check back to find the next date & time
On some Friday evenings, KUMC Children’s Ministry hosts a fun evening for kids at church from 5:00-8:00 for kids age 2 years old through 5th grade so parents can enjoy a relaxing evening out! Kid's will enjoy a dinner of pizza, applesauce and cookies for dinner and then do crafts, play games and have open play time in the gym. Please plan to pack a meal with your child wants/needs a different dinner. Their evening will end with some stories and a movie to help them wind down so they are ready to tuck into bed when you bring them home. There is no cost for this event, but KUMC will gladly accept donations to cover the cost of food and supplies for the evening. Watch here for a future date to be announced, and then follow the link to registration that will appear at the bottom of this announcement to register your child or children - then go get those dinner reservations for you and your significant other!

Family Fun Night, June 20, 2023
We like to have fun at KUMC and what better way to have fun in the summer than to throw a splash party in the parking lot! At our Family Fun night on June 20th, we pulled out the "car wash" sprinkler, had wet sponge tic-tac-toe, fishing in the kiddie pool, some pool noodle hockey and more. And the kids found even more fun and creative ways to such as making a "water angel". And we topped off the evening with some freezer pops too!
You are always welcome to drop in for a family fun night and come check out KUMC! Watch on our website, and here on our children's page for future Family Fun nights this summer, and for other activities through out the year.
